MC33CD1020AES is a cost optimized multiple switch detection interface device designed to detect the closing and opening of up to 22 switch contacts. The switch status, either open or closed, is transferred to the microprocessor unit through a Serial Peripheral Interface. This SMARTMOS device also features a 22-to-1 analogue multiplexer for reading the input channels as analogue inputs. The analogue selected input signal is buffered and provided on the AMUX output pin for the MCU to read. It has two modes of operation, normal and low-power mode. Normal mode allows programming of the device and supplies switch contacts with pull-up or pull-down current as it monitors the change of state on the switches. It provides low quiescent current, which makes CD1020 ideal for automotive and industrial products requiring low sleep-state currents. Application includes automotive, heating ventilation and air conditioning, lighting, central gateway/in-vehicle networking, gasoline engine management.
- Fully functional operation 6.0V ≤ VBATP ≤ 36V, full parametric operation 6.0V ≤ VBATP ≤ 28V
- Supply voltage range from 3.0 to 5.25V, operating switch input voltage range from -1.0V to 36V
- Eight programmable inputs (switches to battery or ground)
- 14 switch-to-ground inputs, interfaces directly to an MCU using 3.3V / 5.0V SPI protocol

- Supply voltage range from 3.0 to 5.25V
- Active interrupt (INT-B) on change-of-switch state
- Transfer frequency is 8.0MHz max (TA = -40°C to +125°C, VDDQ = 3.1V to 5.25V)
- Temperature monitor range from 155 to 185°C (VDDQ = 3.1V to 5.25V)
